This means that there is a lot of additional heat going to the laptop (since the brightness is set to the max), which has me concerned for the overall thermal longevity of my laptop (especially given that my primary use for Windows is to play games on my HTC Vive, which can be thermally intensive).Īttempted Solutions: I've scoured the internet for ways to either turn off or adjust the brightness in Windows with an eGPU connected, but none of the solutions I've found work for me. With the external displays connected I have found a way to close the lid without the computer going to sleep, however, I discovered that this does not turn off the display. In macOS this is a non-issue, but in Windows I have run into problems that I don't know how to solve. I want to use two external monitors with the setup, and put my MacBook off to the side in clamshell mode.
Preface: I own a 13" MacBook Pro (2018 i7 version) that I have connected to an eGPU (a Razer Core X with a Vega 64 installed in it). TLDR: Clamshell mode with Windows isn't behaving how I want it to.
